Abstract:

Stephan led the O365 forms delivery team, a collaboration between Melbourne and Kuala Lumpur teams. He implemented automated testing and significantly improved quality and reduced rollbacks.

Situation

Nintex provides Workflow products as extensions to Microsoft SharePoint to enterprise companies, like banks, insurance companies and logistic industry. By their very nature and geo spread, the products are heavily used 24x7 and even the shortest outages lead to downstream issues.

Stephan has been technically leading and managing a team within Nintex to not only deliver new features but also uplift the delivery agility.


Tasks

He led the team, working with the product owner to determine the roadmap and deliver to the team's estimates.

His tasks also included HR responsibilities.


Actions

Several projects have successfully been delivered, including a re-usable “Print to PDF” micro-service using bleeding edge (Azure Preview) features and the extremely high risk “O365 App Key Rotation” project.

The team implemented UI Test Automation, Environment Automation and executive dashboarding for ALM Process Metrics.


Results

As a result, the 4 week regression testing was reduced to less than a day and the introduction of Session Based Testing significantly reduced customer support requests after feature releases across all O365 teams.

After uplifting the practices in the O365 Forms team, Stephan was asked to follow his manager and lead a team for the Hawkeye Product.
